Auditory Integration Training (AIT)
Home Systems

from Serious Composer, Inc.

We ship internationally.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the heavy demand for the AIT Home System, it currently takes 6-8 weeks to ship a Home System after receiving an order.

The price is $695 (US) (North Carolina Residents Add 7% Sales Tax) plus $25 shipping and handling within the continental US. Other shipping rates vary. The customer is responsible for any applicable duties and tariffs. It currently takes about ten to fifteen business days to ship a Home System after receiving an order. The AUDITORY INTEGRATION TRAINING 20-CD CUSTOM HOME SYSTEM is packaged in a hard shell CD case designed to protect the CDs. Each customer's order of CDs comes complete with a high-quality, professional stereo headphone amplifier equipped with four headphone outputs. A professional, heavy-duty audio cable is also provided to connect the headphone amp to the audio outputs of your standard home CD or DVD/CD player (not "boombox" or Walkman-type players). This home system is also shipped with one lightweight, wide spectrum headset (additional headsets are $35.00 each—if the system is to be used by a young child, one additional headset is recommended for parents’ use for periodic monitoring of CDs).

PLEASE NOTE: HERE IS THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO OBTAIN BEFORE ORDERING AN AIT HOME SYSTEM:

We realize that in some circumstances, it is difficult, or impossible, to obtain an audiogram. However, if possible, it would be helpful to obtain the following information prior to Auditory Integration Training from your local professional (usually a licensed audiologist).

The audiological assessment should include:

  • the results of pure-tone air conduction testing at all available frequencies (including “half-octaves”): 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 750 Hz, 1kHz, 1.5kHz, 2kHz, 3kHz, 4kHz, 6kHz, 8kHz
and bone conduction testing (as appropriate).

  • In addition to hearing deficiencies, we are particularly interested in knowing the frequencies at which the prospective AIT trainee may be sensitive; the audiogram should indicate the level of all responses below 0 dBHL if they are present.

  • If possible to obtain, it is also helpful to know if the client experiences any uncomfortable listening levels below 90 dBHL.

  • a “screening” tympanogram indicating canal volume and tympanic compliance as well as an otoscopic exam are highly recommended for all prospective AIT trainees

  • AIT should not be conducted in the presence of PE tubes, ear infection, or perforated eardrum.

  • Make sure to consult a qualified health professional before beginning AIT listening sessions.

  • In the absence of an audiogram, we will use the information on the questionnaires to determine the appropriate specifications for the CDs.

Our new Classical Music Collection of Twenty CDs, headphones, amplifier and interface cable are available for use by special children and adults with autism, pervasive developmental disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD, AD/HD), CAPD, and other learning-related challenges.

This is a CD set that features twenty selections from our renowned Serious Composer classical music library. All music has been electronically modulated in our laboratory to provide the most precise Auditory Integration Training available anywhere in the world.

Our AIT Home System is intended to put Auditory Integration Training directly in the hands of parents who do not have convenient access to a local practitioner. Serious Composer, Inc. manufactures a set of twenty CDs, which contain specially modulated and filtered recordings. Each CD is individually manufactured to individual specifications.

We utilize a very labor-intensive process of custom-filtering and individually manufacturing each of the 20 CDs for the specific requirements of every client. The computerized filtering, which is done in our laboratory in Asheville, is based upon both the audiological report (if obtainable) and the questionnaire results. After manufacturing each CD, the audio data is read back into the computer to check for any imperfections (if errors are found, a new CD is immediately manufactured and tested). We then thoroughly check every headphone, amplifier and audio cable to make sure all the components of each Home System are working properly before shipping.

All musical selections are excerpted from a large library of classical music masterworks that have been exclusively licensed to Serious Composer, Inc. by an independent record label specializing in fine classical music recordings.
