Training for Professionals We limit professional training in the Kirby Method of AIT and sale of the KAM System to professionals with appropriate clinical or teaching experience, documented academic credentials, professional references and  certification/licensure (if applicable).

An application/order form to be used in applying for AIT training and the purchase of the Kirby Auditory Modulation System (KAM  System) can be downloaded below. The system includes a digital signal processor, headphone amplifier, Beyer Dynamic professional headphones, computer interface cable, and audio cables.  The system also includes software for use with a PC running under Windows 98/ME/XP. and twenty half-hour CDs containing modulated classical music.  To use this system you will need to provide: (1) a tabletop CD player or DVD player with standard RCA female audio connectors and (2) a PC running Windows 98, ME, or XP.  The PC must have two USB ports: one USB port (for connection to the digital audio processor) and a  second USB port for the software "key."

This is the only software-based AIT system in the world. The advantage of this PC-based system is the availability of software upgrades that can be downloaded and installed directly from the Serious Composer website by our certified practitioners. Software upgrades are made available as KAM features are added or changed based on evolving developments in the fields of audiology, neuroscience, psychoacoustics and related fields.

If you are interested in applying to become trained as a practitioner, please sign and return the application/order form along with a copy of your professional license or certificate (if you have one). In the absence of a license or certificate, please request that an official academic transcript of your highest degree (pertaining to your area of expertise) be sent directly from your college or university to us.  A short resume with the names and contact information of at least two professional references should also be sent. If you are approved for training, payment can be made using Visa/Mastercard, personal check, money order or certified check prior to training.

Since we do our training sessions with professionals on a "one-on-one" basis, the specific days are flexible. Typically, training takes place over two days. We do all we possibly can to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals like yourself. You will be picked up from your hotel at 9:00 AM and returned to your hotel in the late afternoon. We will provide lunch each day. Please note: during fall’s “leaf season,” we have thousands of tourists visit Asheville. You will need to book a room well in advance if you wish to train during that period.

As schedule permits, we can also travel to your US or foreign site for training (additional fees are applicable).

You will receive instruction in the Kirby Method of Auditory Integration Training that utilizes the KAM System described above. You will receive a certificate after the satisfactory completion of the training. **For professional trainees who reside in the US and/or plan to practice the Kirby Method in the United States, the fee for instruction in AIT by Dr. Kirby is $2,200, payable prior to training by certified check, cash, or Visa/Mastercard. The KAM system costs $4,500 and can usually be shipped to a certified KAMS trainer within three weeks of receipt of payment-in-full. Please contact us for  Practitioner Application Form and additional details.

**Please Note: The prices for training and equipment (including installation and technical support) are higher outside the United States. Professional trainees who do not reside in the US and/or plan to practice the Kirby Method outside the United States are required to receive training from  us or at a *training center authorized by Dr. Kirby.

*Training is also available in the Middle East. For more information, contact us.
